San Jose, CA (Best E Casino) - The San Jose Sharks announced Friday that the trade of Kyle McLaren to Philadelphia in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick in 2009 has been nullified by the Flyers because the veteran defenseman failed his physical. McLaren, who was shipped to the City of Brotherly Love on Wednesday, was expected to join the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League. The 31-year-old has spent the entire 2008-09 campaign with San Jose's AHL affiliate in Worcester after clearing waivers prior to the start of the season. McLaren, who sustained a hand injury in December, has registered just six assists in 17 games. The ninth overall pick of Boston in the 1995 draft, McLaren has registered 46 goals and 161 assists in 719 career games with the Bruins and the Sharks.
