New York, NY (Best E Casino) - The NHL's leading goal scorers, Washington's Alex Ovechkin, Buffalo's Thomas Vanek and Philadelphia's Jeff Carter, headed a list of 15 players named as reserves to the Eastern Conference All-Star team for the game to be played on January 25 in Montreal. Ovechkin, Vanek and Carter are all tied for the league-lead in goals with 27 entering Thursday's action. Ovechkin will be playing in his third All-Star Game, while Vanek and Carter will each be making their first appearances. They will be joined up front by Tampa Bay's Vincent Lecavalier (fourth appearance), Carolina's Eric Staal (third appearance), Boston's Marc Savard (second appearance), New Jersey's Zach Parise (first appearance), Ottawa's Dany Heatley (fourth selection) and Atlanta's Ilya Kovalchuk (third appearance). As voted by fans, Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby and Montreal's Alex Kovalev will be the three starting forwards. The blueline reserves are Florida's Jay Bouwmeester (second appearance), Boston's Zdeno Chara (fourth appearance), the Islanders' Mark Streit (first appearance) and Toronto's Tomas Kaberle (fourth appearance). Montreal's Mike Komisarek and Andrei Markov were selected as the starters on defense. Backing up starter Carey Price in net is the Rangers' Henrik Lundqvist (first appearance) and Boston's Tim Thomas (second appearance).
