Memphis, TN (Best E Casino) - Tyreke Evans logged a game-high 24 points as No. 18 Memphis had little trouble disposing of Marist, 100-61.

Shawn Taggart posted 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Antonio Anderson and Roburt Sallie added 12 and 11 points, respectively, for the Tigers (5-1), who shot 52.8 percent from the field on the heels of their first loss of the season to Xavier in the finals of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

David Devezin led a lackluster offensive effort for the Red Foxes (2-4) with 11 points as the team shot a mere 35.0 percent from the floor in the loss. Ryan Schneider and Lawrence Williams each chipped in 10 points while grabbing eight and nine rebounds, respectively.

A debilitating 23-2 run by Memphis midway through the first half put the game out of reach. Wesley Witherspoon started the spurt with a layup and Anderson's free throw ended it around the eight-minute mark.

Marist couldn't bounce back from the 51-24 halftime deficit, hitting just 2- of-7 from behind the arc in the second half.

Game Notes

The Tigers won their only previous meeting with Marist in 1988...Memphis was once again lacking at the free throw line, hitting 15-of-29 at the stripe... The Tigers converted 21 Red Foxes turnovers into 31 points.
