Denver, CO (Best E Casino) - The Denver Nuggets waived five players on Thursday, including forward Ruben Patterson and guards Mateen Cleaves and Smush Parker. Patterson, 33, averaged 5.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in 20 games for the Los Angeles Clippers last season. The Cincinnati product has career marks of 10.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in 10 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, Seattle SuperSonics, Portland Trail Blazers, Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Clippers. Parker, 27, played in only 19 games for the Clippers last season. The Fordham product has averaged nine points and 2.9 assists per game over five seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Phoenix Suns, Lakers and Miami Heat. Cleaves, 31, has not played since seeing action in 27 games for the Sonics in the 2005-06 campaign, averaging 2.7 points and 1.6 assists per game. The former Michigan State Spartan has career averages of 3.7 points and 1.9 assists per game over six seasons with the Pistons, Sacramento Kings, Cavaliers, and Seattle. The Nuggets also waived forwards Nick Fazekas and James Mays on Thursday.
