Washington, DC (Best E Casino) - Washington Wizards center Brendan Haywood underwent successful surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist, an injury originally suffered on October 2 during the team's training camp. The procedure, which was performed by Dr. Michelle Carlson at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, will keep Haywood in a cast for the next 10 weeks before he can begin the rehabilitation process. The UNC product is expected to make a full recovery within four-to-six months. Haywood averaged a career-high 10.6 points and 7.2 rebounds last season for Washington and matched a career mark with 1.7 blocks per contest. He also set a new career-high for average minutes played with 27.9 and competed in 80 of 82 games.
