(Best E Casino) - The New Jersey Devils will try to rebound from their first loss of the 2008-09 campaign when they visit the Atlanta Thrashers this evening at Philips Arena.

The Devils opened up the season with three straight contests against Atlantic Division rivals and, after posting wins over both the New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins, were defeated by the New York Rangers on Monday.

Aaron Voros notched a pair of goals and an assist to lead the Rangers to a 4-1 decision over the visiting Devils.

John Madden scored the lone goal for the Devils, while Martin Brodeur gave up three goals on 23 shots faced in the loss.

The Devils are 0-1-1 as the road club this season after going 21-15-5 away from Jersey during the 2007-08 campaign.

The Thrashers, meanwhile, will try to avoid their third consecutive loss after beginning their 2008-09 schedule with a victory over Washington.

After beating the Capitals, 7-4, Atlanta has been defeated by Florida in overtime and was most recently handed a 4-2 setback by visiting Minnesota on Tuesday. Antti Miettinen scored twice and Andrew Brunette had a goal and an assist to lead the Wild to victory.

Bryan Little had a goal and assist, Ilya Kovalchuk also scored for Atlanta, and Kari Lehtonen made 22 saves in defeat.

Tonight's contest marks the middle portion of a three-game homestand for Atlanta. The Thrashers, who were 19-19-3 as the host last season, will complete the residency Saturday against Buffalo.

New Jersey has won four of the last six meetings with the Thrashers, including a 3-1 mark in last year's season series. However, Atlanta has taken eight of its last 12 encounters with the Devils.
