Pittsburgh, PA (Best E Casino) - The Pittsburgh Penguins will reportedly miss defenseman Sergei Gonchar until March as he recovers from surgery following a dislocated left shoulder. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Monday night that Gonchar, who dislocated the shoulder in the preseason opener against Tampa Bay on September 20, will undergo surgery on the shoulder on Thursday. The Penguins announced last week that Gonchar would be sidelined indefinitely. Gonchar, 34, finished second among defensemen in scoring last season, registering 12 goals and 65 points in 78 games for the Eastern Conference champs. The 13-season veteran has tallied 185 goals and 430 assists in 904 career games with the Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins, and Penguins.
