New York, NY (Best E Casino) - Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder has been named the National League's Player of the Week for the period ending September 21. Fielder led the NL with a 1.038 slugging percentage and 27 total bases. His 12 hits, six doubles and 11 RBI tied for the league lead while he batted .462 (12-for-26) with a .533 on-base percentage and scored six runs. He is currently on a 12-game hitting streak and recorded four multi-hit games during the week. Despite his good numbers, though, Milwaukee went just 2-4 and ended the week 1 1/2 games behind New York for the NL wild card. The 24-yer-old, who also had three home runs during the week, is batting .274 on the season with 33 home runs and 98 RBI. It was his second career weekly award with his previous one coming back in May of 2007. Other nominees for the award included the Fielder's teammate, J.J. Hardy (.480 with three RBI); Philadelphia's Brad Lidge (four saves, 0.00 ERA with eight strikeouts); San Francisco's Bengie Molina (.367 with two home runs and six RBI); Colorado's Chris Iannetta (.421 with three home runs and six RBI) and Pittsburgh's Ryan Doumit (.400 with one home run and eight RBI).
