Philadelphia, PA (Best E Casino) - ALABAMA: The Crimson Tide sent a loud message to the SEC and the rest of the college football world with a 49-14 thumping of Arkansas in Fayetteville on Saturday. Glen Coffee and Roy Upchurch led a ground attack that churned out 328 yards. Coffee ran for 162 yards and Upchurch added 91 yards on the ground for the Crimson Tide (4-0, 1-0 SEC), who also got a touchdown toss from John Parker Wilson. Alabama netted 402 total yards, while Arkansas gained 309 yards. The Tide now owns an 11-8 lead in the all-time series between the schools. In what promises to be one of the best games of week five, the eighth-ranked Crimson Tide will travel to Athens to take on No. 3 Georgia.

ARKANSAS: The Razorbacks entered Saturday's clash with Alabama having won both of their first two games by a narrow margin against weak competition. While it was no surprise that Arkansas and first-year head coach Bobby Petrino fell to the Crimson Tide, the 49-14 final was a bit surprising, especially since the game was played in Fayetteville. Casey Dick was picked off three times while completing 20-of-39 passes for 190 yards in defeat. Dick also threw a touchdown pass and Michael Smith ran for 91 yards and added 67 yards receiving with a touchdown for Arkansas (2-1, 0-1). In a game that was postponed due to Hurricane Ike, the Razorbacks will take on No. 7 Texas this Saturday.

AUBURN: The Tigers clearly put up a tremendous fight against LSU on Saturday in the most anticipated game of the weekend. Unfortunately, LSU made big plays in the closing minutes and came away with a 26-21 victory. Chris Todd threw for 250 yards and a touchdown while completing 17-of-32 passes, but was intercepted twice as Auburn (3-1, 1-1) failed to take advantage of its home turf. Prior to that outcome, the home team in the series had won eight consecutive games dating back to 2000. Ben Tate ran for 45 yards on 19 carries and had one TD for Auburn, while Tim Hawthorne caught two passes for 87 yards. Rodgeriqus Smith had five catches for 73 yards and Robert Dunn had four receptions for 60 yards with one touchdown. The Tigers remain home this weekend, as the 1-2 Tennessee Volunteers come to town.

FLORIDA: The Gators marched into Knoxville on Saturday and completely manhandled the Tennessee Volunteers, leaving town with a 30-6 victory. Tim Tebow threw for two touchdowns and Brandon James returned a punt for another. Tebow finished with just 96 yards through the air on 8-of-15 passing and added 26 yards on the ground. Percy Harvin caught two passes for 49 yards and a score, while Aaron Hernandez added another receiving touchdown. Emmanuel Moody led the Gators (3-0, 1-0 SEC) in rushing with 55 yards on nine carries. The all-time series between the two schools is tied 19-19 thanks to four straight wins by Florida. Ole Miss will be the opponent for Florida on Saturday in Gainesville.

GEORGIA: Matthew Stafford completed 16-of-28 passes for a career-high 285 yards and one touchdown, as the third-ranked Bulldogs defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils, 27-10. Knowshon Moreno carried the ball for 149 yards and two scores for the Bulldogs (4-0). Freshman wide receiver A.J. Green had eight receptions for 159 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown. The contest marked the first meeting between the two programs. Georgia, which improved to 9-4-1 against schools from the Pac-10, has outscored its opponents 79-17 in the first half this season. Expect the Bulldogs to be involved in a close game this weekend, as the eighth-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide invades Athens.

KENTUCKY: The Wildcats were the only SEC team not in action this past weekend. Kentucky is 3-0 this season, having scored 85 points while surrendering only 19 to the opposition. Rich Brooks' team gets back to action on Saturday against Western Kentucky, so the Wildcats figure to have an outstanding chance of moving to 4-0 before diving into a difficult slate of SEC games.

LSU: In the best game of the college football weekend, LSU pulled out an impressive 26-21 victory over Auburn on the road. Jarrett Lee threw for 182 yards on just 11 completions with two touchdowns and one interception to lead his team to victory. Brandon LaFell caught four passes for 92 yards and the go-ahead score with 1:03 left in the game for LSU (3-0, 1-0 SEC). The game marked the 12th time in the past 19 games in the series that the outcome was decided by seven points or less. Chris Mitchell and Demetrius Byrd each had a touchdown catch while Charles Scott ran for 132 yards on 21 attempts for LSU. Quarterback Andrew Hatch completed 2-of-6 passes for 16 yards before leaving in the third quarter with a concussion. Mississippi State comes to Baton Rouge this weekend for a tussle with the Tigers.

MISSISSIPPI STATE: The Bulldogs struggled mightily on both sides of the ball Saturday, as they were handed an embarrassing 38-7 defeat by the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Atlanta. The Bulldogs (1-3) were paced by Anthony Dixon who gained 94 yards on 13 rushing attempts, although 71 of those came on a single run. Quarterbacks Tyson Lee and Wesley Carroll combined to hit 31-of-50 passes for 299 yards, but the former was sacked three times and the latter picked off twice. Brandon McRae caught a game-high 10 passes for 102 yards. MSU is a huge underdog in this week's clash with fifth-ranked LSU.

OLE MISS: The home crowd watched on in disappointment as the Rebels fell to undefeated Vanderbilt by a 23-17 final on Saturday. Jevan Snead was horrendous for Ole Miss (2-2, 0-1), as the signal-caller completed just 12-of-25 passes for 184 yards. Snead also threw four picks and was sacked once. The Rebels did lead 10-0 at one point, as Peria Jerry returned a fumble 13 yards for a score. Unfortunately for first-year head coach Houston Nutt, his quarterback was unable to help out his defense. Nutt's team will attempt to score an upset this weekend in Gainesville against fourth-ranked Florida.

SOUTH CAROLINA: It is hard to get too excited over the Gamecocks' 23-13 victory over Wofford on Saturday. Clearly, an SEC team is expected to post a great margin of victory over an FCS opponent. Chris Smelley threw for 204 yards, and the Gamecocks finished with 376 total yards. While South Carolina did not punt the ball at all in the clash, Smelley threw a pair of interceptions and also lost a fumble. Clearly, those turnovers made the game closer than it should have been. Now an even 2-2, the Gamecocks will take on non-conference foe UAB this weekend.

TENNESSEE: The Vols were completely embarrassed on their home field on Saturday, as Florida cruised to a 30-6 victory. Jonathan Crompton completed 18-of-28 passes for 162 yards with a pick and ran for 23 yards and the only score for Tennessee (1-2, 0-1). Arian Foster had 37 yards on the ground on 14 carries, and Gerald Jones caught five passes for 40 yards. Don't forget, the Vols opened the season with a heart-breaking loss to UCLA, so it is hard to get too excited about Phil Fulmer's squad. Tennessee outgained Florida 258-243, but the Vols had two crucial fumbles in the first half that allowed the Gators to storm out to an early lead, which they would not relinquish. On the docket this weekend for Tennessee is a road clash with No. 15 Auburn.

VANDERBILT: Bryant Hahnfeldt connected on two fourth-quarter field goals to give the Commodores a 23-17 victory over the Ole Miss Rebels on the road. Vandy showed a great deal of toughness to win the game despite only gaining 202 total yards. Chris Nickson completed 6-of-7 passes, but threw for just 40 yards and one score. The Commodores have earned their first 4-0 start since 1984 and need just two more wins to become bowl eligible, an obvious goal for a program that has finished at or near the bottom of the SEC standings seemingly every year in recent memory. The Commodores will be the only SEC team not in action this weekend.
