Calgary, AB (Best E Casino) - Henry Burris threw for 241 yards and two touchdowns on 21-of-34 passing, as the Calgary Stampeders stormed to a 34-4 win over the Toronto Argonauts.
Nik Lewis caught 10 passes for 92 yards and a score for Calgary (8-4), which has won three in a row and also improved to 4-1 against Eastern Conference teams. Joffrey Reynolds ran for 112 yards on 12 attempts, while Mike Labinjo recorded a touchdown reception.
Toronto's Cody Pickett made his first career CFL start and threw for 193 yards on 21-of-36 completions. But he had no touchdowns and was intercepted once for a touchdown, as the Argonauts (4-8) lost their third consecutive game.
Andre Talbot had five catches for 49 yards, while Bethel Johnson caught four passes for 43 yards for Toronto. Dominique Dorsey ran for 59 yards on seven rushes.
A single and 16-yard field goal from Sandro DeAngelis gave Calgary a 4-0 lead less than five minutes into the opening quarter. Mike Vanderjagt countered with a field goal of his own, from 35 yards away, to make it a 4-3 game after one stanza.
But just more than a minute into the second quarter, Burris capped a six-play, 68-yard drive with a one-yard toss to Labinjo to give the Stampeders an 11-3 lead.
Calgary added 10 more points in the stanza -- on a 37-yard boot from DeAngelis and an 18-yard connection with Lewis into the end zone -- to make the score 21-3 at the intermission.
The rout continued in the second half. After a Toronto single just past the midway point of the third quarter, DeAngelis added a 10-yard field goal in the final minute of the stanza. The Stampeders managed to add another score in the quarter when Wes Lysack intercepted Pickett and returned it 57 yards for a TD.
DeAngelis added to Calgary's 31-4 lead with a 33-yard field goal in the final minutes of the game.
