Calgary, AB (Best E Casino) - Ricky Ray completed 26-of-38 passes for 376 yards and three touchdowns, as the Edmonton Eskimos pulled away in the second half for a 37-16 victory over the Calgary Stampeders.
Kamau Peterson was Ray's favorite target, bringing down eight balls for 113 yards and a touchdown, while Fred Stamps caught a pair of touchdowns in a 93- yard receiving effort for Edmonton (6-3), which has won two straight and moved ahead of Calgary into second place in the Western Conference.
Stampeders starting quarterback Henry Burris left the game early with an injured toe, finishing with 81 passing yards on 8-of-14 throws for Calgary (5-4), which had a two-game winning streak snapped. Joffrey Reynolds scored the club's only touchdown while chewing up 75 yards on the ground on nine carries.
Edmonton's A.J. Harris opened the game's scoring with a nine-yard touchdown run up the middle midway through the opening period.
Calgary's Sandro DeAngelis kicked the first of three first-half field goals five minutes later, as successful tries from 19 and 27 yards in the second quarter followed a conceded safety in favor of Edmonton.
Noel Prefontaine's 13-yard field goal gave the Eskimos a 12-9 lead at the break, but Reynolds' three-yard jaunt to pay dirt five minutes into the second half gave the Stampeders their first lead.
On the next possession, however, Edmonton started a sting of 25 unanswered points as Ray found Peterson on a 24-yard scoring strike.
A Prefontaine single and 29-yard field goal were sandwiched between a pair of Stamps touchdowns, both coming on corner routes to the right side of the end zone from 22 and 25 yards out.
