New York, NY (Best E Casino) - Reeling from the loss of Pro Bowl defensive end Osi Umenyiora, the Super Bowl champion New York Giants may look to a familiar face as a replacement.

The New York Daily News is reporting that Michael Strahan, the team's all-time sack leader, would consider coming out of retirement for $8 million and "a few kind words."

Strahan, who now works for FOX Sports as a studio analyst, retired in the offseason after helping the Giants upset the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.

A six-time All-Pro who played the run as well as he played the pass, Strahan is the Giants' all-time sack king with 141 1/2 and the NFL's single-season sack king after recording 22 1/2 during the 2001 season.

The Texas Southern product was also named the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year in 2001 and was a seven-time Pro Bowl selection. He is only the third player to wear a Giant uniform for 15 seasons, joining Mel Hein (1931-45) and Phil Simms (1979-93).

Umenyiora will miss the entire 2008 season after suffering a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee during Saturday's 10-7 preseason loss to the New York Jets.
