Phoenix, AZ (Best E Casino) - Chipper Jones came back from the disabled list to hit a two-run homer and score three times as the Atlanta Braves pounded the Arizona Diamondbacks, 11-6, in the second contest of a four-game set at Chase Field.

Jones, who had been on the DL since July 24 with a strained left hamstring, went 2-for-4 with a walk and raised his batting average to .371, which leads the majors.

Martin Prado hit a pair of doubles and a triple to drive in three runs while Casey Kotchman went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored for the Braves, who have won three of four. Jorge Campillo (7-4) got the win as he gave up five runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings of work.

"We finally got him a few to work with," said Atlanta manager Bobby Cox about Campillo. "I thought he pitched good. I know he gave up five runs but they only squared up about five balls all night and (Jeff) Bennett was as good as I have seen him."

Alex Romero went 3-for-4 with a triple, double and two runs scored, and Chris Snyder drove in two runs for the Diamondbacks, who have dropped three straight and now hold just a half-game lead over Los Angeles for first place in the NL West. Doug Davis (4-7) got the loss as he gave up seven runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings of work.

"That was not typical offensively," said Arizona manager Bob Melvin. "Usually if we get a good start and if we score four or five runs we usually win but that hasn't happen in the last couple of nights."

Arizona took the early lead in the game as Stephen Drew led off the first with a home run over the right-center wall.

However, Atlanta scored eight unanswered runs to take control of the contest.

In the second with the bases loaded, Prado bounced a ground-rule double over the wall in right-center to bring home Omar Infante and Kotchman for a 2-1 lead.

The Braves tacked on two more runs in the third as Infante's double to left brought home Yunel Escobar and Jones for a 4-1 lead.

Atlanta then scored four more runs in the fifth. Jones worked a one-out walk and then raced home when Brian McCann followed with a double. After Infante walked, Billy Buckner took the mound and a wild pitch moved both runners up a base. Kotchman then punched a two-run single to center and he later scored on a double from Prado for an 8-1 lead.

Arizona, though, scored in the next three innings to get back into the game.

In the bottom of the fifth, Romero hit a one-out triple and Snyder brought him home with a sacrifice fly.

The Diamondbacks scored two more in the sixth. Drew led off with a single and moved to third when Conor Jackson followed with a double. Orlando Hudson then beat out an infield single to bring home Drew and Mark Reynolds followed with a sac fly to score Jackson.

Arizona made it an 8-5 contest in the seventh on back-to-back doubles from Romero and Snyder.

Atlanta, though, added some insurance in the ninth as Jones hit a two-run homer and Jeff Bennett added an RBI double later in the frame for an 11-5 lead.

Bennett, who pitched the eighth, gave up a run on a Tony Clark single in the bottom half, but it was with two outs and he got Drew to hit into a fielder's choice to end the game and pick up his third save of the season.

Game Notes

To make room on the roster for Jones, the club optioned pitcher Chuck James to Triple-A Richmond...Atlanta has taken four of six this season against Arizona...Campillo has won his last four decisions...Attendance was 27,996...The RBI was the first of Bennett's career.
