Vancouver, BC (Best E Casino) - Jarious Jackson completed 11-of-24 passes for 150 yards and three scores, and British Columbia took advantage of seven Edmonton turnovers to eke out a 40-34 win over the Eskimos.
Jason Clermont caught five passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns for the Lions (4-3), who rebounded from a loss at Edmonton last week and have won four of five.
Stefan Logan rushed for 83 yards on 10 attempts, and caught two passes for 24 yards and a touchdown. Rolly Lumbala had one rushing attempt for one yard and one touchdown.
Ricky Ray accumulated 436 yards on 30-of-45 passing with four touchdowns, but also threw three interceptions. A.J. Harris caught nine passes for 97 yards for Edmonton (4-3), which had a two-game win streak snapped.
Kamau Peterson had four catches for 47 yards and two scores, while Fred Stamps and Kelly Campbell each had a touchdown reception.
The Lions held a slim 28-27 halftime lead, and extended it in the third quarter. Paul McCallum booted a 45-yard field goal less than two minutes into the stanza, and British Columbia added a single later to take a 32-27 advantage.
Lumbala's one-yard touchdown run to start the fourth quarter gave the Lions some breathing room. It capped a three-play, 39-yard drive. A BC single with about 10 minutes left gave the Lions their final point total.
Ray connected with Peterson on a seven-yard touchdown strike with under eight minutes remaining in the game. British Columbia challenged the score, but a referee review upheld the initial call. The conversion brought Edmonton within one touchdown, but BC was able to hold off the Eskimos to seal the win.
Edmonton built up an early lead, after Ray's 16-yard touchdown pass to Campbell opened the scoring less than three minutes into the contest. Noel Prefontaine's 23-yard field goal with 6:48 remaining in the first quarter gave the Eskimos a 10-0 lead.
But just over a minute later, the Lions started to come back on Jackson's five-yard touchdown throw to Logan. BC then took the lead after Tad Crawford blocked a punt, and Ricky Foley recovered to run it into the end zone. The conversion gave BC a 14-10 lead that the club took into the second stanza.
The teams traded touchdowns to start the second quarter -- first Ray completed an eight-yard pass to Peterson, then Jackson connected with Clermont for 19 yards. Jackson again went to Clermont for 15 yards with 8:25 remaining in the half, boosting BC's lead to 28-17.
Edmonton then promptly cut into the lead by getting McCallum to run the ball out of the back of his end zone for a safety. A 28-yard pass from Ray to Stamps with 3:07 left gave the Eskimos another score, and a single in the final minute drew them within one.
