Phoenix, AZ (Best E Casino) - The Atlanta Braves activated third baseman Chipper Jones from the 15-day disabled list on Friday. Jones had been sidelined since July 24 with a strained left hamstring. The switch-hitting slugger injured himself running out a grounder against the Florida Marlins a day earlier. The 36-year-old, who went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and three runs scored in Friday's 11-6 win over Arizona, leads the majors with a .371 batting average and has added 19 home runs and 57 RBI in 90 games. To make room on the roster, the Braves optioned lefthander Chuck James to Triple-A Richmond. In seven starts for Atlanta this season, James went 2-5 with a 9.10 ERA.
