Phoenix, AZ (Best E Casino) - Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson will undergo Tommy John surgery on Saturday. The team announced the scheduled procedure on Friday and it will be performed in Pensacola, Florida by Dr. James Andrews. Team surgeon Dr. Xavier Duralde and Andrews evaluated the MRI that Hudson underwent on Monday and recommended the ligament replacement surgery that will likely keep the 33-year-old hurler on the shelf until August of next year. Hudson was 11-7 with a 3.17 earned run average in 23 games (22 starts) on the season before being placed on the disabled list July 27. The team also announced that Dr. Andrews will examine pitcher Rafael Soriano, who was placed on the DL on August 3 with right elbow inflammation.
