Flushing, NY (Best E Casino) - The New York Mets placed closer Billy Wagner on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left forearm. The move is retroactive to August 3, and comes on the heels of a blown save -- his seventh of the season -- August 2 at Houston. Wagner was in the middle of his eighth consecutive season with 20 or more saves, having notched 27 this season for the Mets. He has posted a 2.30 earned run average and 52 strikeouts in 47 innings pitched. To replace Wagner on the roster, New York recalled pitcher Ruddy Lugo from Triple-A New Orleans. Lugo is 7-10 with a 5.09 ERA in 21 starts at Triple-A this season, and was 6-0 with a 5.40 ERA in 38 games last year for Tampa Bay and Oakland.
