Philadelphia, PA (Best E Casino) - The Philadelphia 76ers made it official Monday, re-signing restricted free agent guard Lou Williams. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, last Thursday the Philadelphia Daily News reported that the contract was for five years. "We are very excited that we have reached an agreement with Lou Williams," said Sixers general manager Ed Stefanski. "He is not only a very talented player who exemplifies our up-tempo style of play, but he is also a young man who exhibits great character and qualities off the court as well. We look forward to having him in a Sixers uniform for many years to come." Coming primarily off the bench, the 21-year-old averaged a career-high 11.3 points in 80 games with the Sixers last season. The athletic guard also averaged 12.0 points in the Sixers' six-game playoff loss to Detroit. Williams was the 45th pick in the 2005 NBA draft out of South Gwinnett High School in suburban Atlanta. He has averaged 7.2 points, 2.2 assists and 1.5 assists in 171 games over three pro seasons.
