Green Bay, WI (Best E Casino) - The Green Bay Packers made it official on Monday and placed quarterback Brett Favre on the roster. Favre was reinstated by the NFL on Sunday after a brief retirement. His status with the Packers, however, is unclear. The 38-year-old Favre retired in early March at a tear-filled press conference, then apparently had the itch to return. However, after the retirement decision, the Packers anointed Aaron Rodgers as Favre's successor and addressed backup quarterback needs through the draft. As Favre's situation developed through the summer, his relationship with the team appeared to sour. It led to a meeting last week with club president Mark Murphy, who released a statement on Sunday saying the team "will welcome [Favre] back and turn this situation to our advantage." The Packers had said that Rodgers is their starting quarterback, and there have been rumors of trade possibilities involving Favre. Last season, Favre led the Packers to the NFC Championship Game after throwing for 4,155 yards with 28 touchdowns and compiling a 95.7 passer rating during the regular season. The Packers opened a roster spot for the future Hall of Fame signal-caller by placing cornerback Condrew Allen on injured reserve with a knee injury.
