Bristol, CT (Best E Casino) - NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has reportedly reinstated Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre. ESPN reported Favre will fly to Green Bay on Sunday but won't be added to the team's roster until Monday. Reports earlier in the week indicated that the future Hall of Fame quarterback was considering accepting a huge monetary package, to be paid for a lifetime non-playing role with the franchise, to remain retired. Favre faxed his letter requesting reinstatement to the league on Tuesday of last week. Assuming NFL commissioner Roger Goodell did reinstate Favre, the Packers will have 24 hours after the official reinstatement to put him back on their active roster or grant him his release as he has requested. Favre reportedly wants to be released, something the Packers aren't willing to do. He's also expressed his desire to play for a team within Green Bay's division, a trade the Packers view as a last resort. The 38-year-old Favre retired in early March at a tear-filled press conference, but since then he's had the itch to return for a 17th season. He met Wednesday with Packers president Mark Murphy in Mississippi. Murphy reportedly went to speak to the star quarterback and influence him out of reporting to training camp this week. Several media reports Wednesday said the Packers were offering Favre millions of dollars to stay retired, up to $20 million over a 10-year span. After Favre's retirement, Aaron Rodgers was given the starting QB job, a position the Packers haven't backed off.
