The win further cements the Cubs comfortable lead in the NL Central over both Milwaukee and St. Louis following a four- game sweep against the Brewers earlier this week. Ryan Doumit was 3-for-4 with a run scored while Paul Maholm (7-7) was roughed up for five runs on eight hits and two walks to receive the loss. The left-hander had allowed two runs or less in five of his last six starts for Pittsburgh, which were winners in three of their last four entering the game.

Salomon Torres yielded a hit and struck out a batter in getting the final two outs for his 21st save. Fielder had a two-run homer and a solo blast while Jason Kendall hit an RBI double for the Brewers, who have countered a five-game losing streak with two consecutive victories to clinch the series. Rookie Charlie Morton (2-5) gave up two runs on just four hits and a walk through seven innings with four strikeouts for Atlanta, which has lost two in a row and seven of its last eight. Kelly Johnson was 2-for-4 with an RBI while Omar Infante and Gregor Blanco each had a run scored.

Houston, TX (Best E Casino) - Darin Erstad drove in the game-winning run in the 10th inning as the Houston Astros came from behind to down the New York Mets, 5-4, in the middle portion of a three-game set at Minute Maid Park. Kaz Matsui hit a home run, tripled and scored twice while Geoff Blum delivered a pinch-hit, two-run single in the ninth for the Astros, who have won five of their last six. Damion Easley hit a two-run home run and Johan Santana had another strong outing as he gave up just one run on three hits in 6 1/3 innings of work for the Mets, who have dropped three straight and now sit two games behind Philadelphia for first place in the NL East. New York also finds itself in third place, a half-game behind Florida. Aaron Heilman (1-6) was saddled with the loss, charged with the winning run without recording an out.

Miami, FL (Best E Casino) - John Baker drove in three runs -- including a two-run home run -- to help the Florida Marlins to a 5-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies in the third installment of a four-game set. Jeremy Hermida added two hits and a run scored while Josh Willingham had a triple, double and scored two runs to give the Marlins their third win in four games. The Marlins trail the Phillies by 1 1/2 games for first place in the NL East. Ricky Nolasco (11-6) got his first win since July 7, throwing eight strong innings on three runs and only four hits. The righty struck out a career-high 13 batters without giving up any free passes. Kevin Gregg pitched a scoreless ninth -- working around a leadoff double -- for his 24th save of the season. Valerio De Los Santos (0-1) pitched only four innings for Colorado, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out eight and walking five. The 35-year-old was making his second start of the year, throwing four innings in an 8-4 loss against Pittsburgh on July 28. Matt Holliday provided most of the offense for the Rockies, going 3-for-4 with two solo homers. Seth Smith and Willy Taveras were the only other Colorado players to record hits for the Rockies, who have lost four of six.

Josh Fogg allowed three runs in his 5 1/3 inning start by scattering six hits and three walks while striking out five.

Blanton (1-0), acquired in a trade with the Oakland Athletics in mid-July, earned his first victory in a Phillies uniform, hurling seven innings of one- run ball on four hits, a pair of walks and five strikeouts. Brad Lidge earned his 27th save in as many chances, as Philadelphia won for the sixth time in seven games despite recording only four hits. Braden Looper (10-9) went seven strong for St. Louis, but took the loss as two of the three hits he allowed went for solo home runs. Ryan Ludwick smashed a homer for the Cardinals, who had won four of five coming into the game.

Los Angeles, CA (Best E Casino) - Manny Ramirez ripped a two-run home run during a 2-for-4 effort at the plate to highlight the Dodgers' 4-2 victory over the Diamondbacks in the third game of an important National League Western Division four-game set. Hiroki Kuroda (6-8) was outshined by Ramirez, but earned his first win since July 7 after allowing one run on four hits with six strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings for Los Angeles, which has won three of its last five and moved to within two games of the D'Backs in the NL West. Recently acquired Casey Blake doubled and homered for the victors. Yusmeiro Petit (1-2), in his third start this season, was credited with the loss, giving up three runs on five hits through five innings. Miguel Montero recorded a solo shot for Arizona, which had won seven of eight coming in, including the first two of this series.

Fred Lewis was 2-for-4 and scored a run for the Giants, who have won two in a row and three of their last five. Bengie Molina and Emmanuel Burriss both knocked in a run. Jake Peavy (8-7) was the hard-luck loser as he yielded only a run on five hits over seven innings. Peavy also struck out seven and didn't walk a batter. Brian Giles had two of the three hits for the Padres, who have dropped four straight.
