(Best E Casino) - Young right-hander Yusmeiro Petit takes his turn in the Manny Ramirez circus tonight when the
Arizona Diamondbacks face the host
Los Angeles Dodgers in the third game of a four-game series at Dodger Stadium.
The 23-year-old Petit has started just twice in 11 appearances with Arizona this season, but got a 9-2 defeat of the Chicago Cubs on July 22 after allowing three hits and a run in five innings.
He tossed two innings of one-hit scoreless relief six days later while getting a no-decision against San Diego.
Petit last faced the Dodgers on April 23 and allowed two hits and two unearned runs in an inning.
He's given up six hits and four runs - two earned - in six lifetime innings against L.A.
Japanese right-hander Hiroki Kuroda looks for his first win since July 7 for the Dodgers.
He's 0-2 with a par of no-decisions since including losses to Colorado and San Francisco in which he's given up 18 hits and 12 runs in just 9 2/3 innings.
Kuroda was ripped for eight hits and five earned runs in two innings against Arizona on July 18 in Phoenix and is 0-1 in two career starts against the Diamondbacks.
He is 3-1 in nine home starts in 2008.
On Friday, Stephen Drew singled in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning and Randy Johnson spoiled Ramirez's debut with another vintage start, as Arizona squeezed past Los Angeles, 2-1.
Ramirez went 2-for-4, but grounded into a double play with one on and none out in the ninth inning.
Johnson (9-7) has seemingly found the fountain of youth, winning his fifth straight start after allowing just one unearned run on five hits to go with six strikeouts in six full frames. The aging lefty also improved to 7-0 at Dodger Stadium.
Tony Clark hit a solo home run and Conor Jackson extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a double for the D-Backs.
Clayton Kershaw, coming off his first career win, was solid in six innings of four-hit scoreless ball.
The young lefty did not factor in the decision, though, as Chan Ho Park (4-3) allowed both runs in his brief relief appearance for Los Angeles, which had won two straight coming into the series.
Arizona has won seven of 10 from the Dodgers this season.
