Boston, MA (Best E Casino) - Boston Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell left Friday's 2-1 win over the Oakland Athletics in the bottom of the 10th inning with a hip injury. Lowell was running out what was eventually an infield hit, when he appeared to come up favoring his right leg after reaching first base. He was lifted from the game for pinch-runner Coco Crisp, and later diagnosed with a right hip strain. Jed Lowrie, who started the game at shortstop, moved to third in Lowell's spot and finished the game there. He legged out an infield single which plated the game-winning run.
