Washington, DC (Best E Casino) - The Washington Nationals activated outfielder Elijah Dukes from the 15-day disabled list following Thursday's 8-4 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. Dukes, who has been sidelined with torn tendons in his right knee, hasn't played since July 5. He's hitting .263 with six homers and 20 RBI this season. The Nationals also added newly acquired shortstop Alberto Gonzalez, who was acquired in a trade with the New York Yankees earlier Thursday, to the roster. The Nats are also expected to recall second baseman Emilio Bonifacio from Triple-A Columbus. The Nationals also released catchers Johnny Estrada and Paul Lo Duca, and infielder Felipe Lopez. The 32-year-old Estrada was designated for assignment on July 22 after batting .170 in 23 games with Washington. The 36 year-old Lo Duca was hitting .230 and Lopez .231. Thursday marked Washington's ninth straight defeat.
