Arlington, TX (Best E Casino) - Michael Young's sacrifice fly drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth inning, as the Texas Rangers clipped the Seattle Mariners, 4-3, in the third installment of a four-game set.

Josh Hamilton and Brandon Boggs each clubbed solo home runs for the Rangers, who have won four of their last six contests. David Murphy was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs scored.

Eddie Guardado (2-2) pitched a scoreless frame to get the win for Texas in relief of starter Vicente Padilla, who gave up three runs on 10 hits over seven innings.

Willie Bloomquist finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for Seattle, which have dropped nine of its 11 games. Ichiro Suzuki had three hits and a walk, while Jeremy Reed went 2-for-3 and knocked in a run.

Seattle starter Miguel Batista allowed three runs -- two earned -- on seven hits in six innings of a no-decision. Arthur Rhodes (2-1) yielded the deciding run without giving up a hit to take the loss.

Rhodes started the eighth for Seattle and issued three consecutive walks to Murphy, Hamilton and Marlon Byrd to load the bases with one out. Young entered as a pinch-hitter for Boggs and his sac fly from pinch-hitter gave the Rangers a 4-3 lead. Rhodes was then ejected by home plate umpire Paul Nauert for arguing balls and strikes. Mark Lowe came on from the bullpen and fanned Chris Davis to end the inning.

C.J. Wilson worked around a two-out single from Suzuki in the ninth to nail down his 24th save.

In the second, the Mariners strung together four consecutive hits with two outs to grab an early 2-0 lead. After belting a double, Kenji Johjima came home on an RBI single from Bloomquist. Suzuki then reached on an infield single and Jeremy Reed followed with a base hit to plate Bloomquist.

Texas quickly answered with a pair of runs in their half of the second. Hamilton's lead-off home run -- a blast to right -- gave him 25 for the season and, after Byrd went down swinging, Boggs launched the 11th pitch of the at- bat over the right field wall to tie the game at two.

Seattle regained the lead in the fifth on a Jose Lopez RBI single, but Texas evened the score in the sixth with the help of an error from Johjima. Murphy ripped a double to center to open the frame and took third on a Hamilton groundout. Boggs later worked a two-out walk, stole second and advanced to third on Johjima's throwing miscue, which allowed Murphy to score.

The Mariners had the bases loaded with no outs in the seventh and failed to score.

Game Notes

Lopez extended his hitting streak to a career-high 17 games...The Mariners left eight men on base, while Texas stranded six...Seattle's R.A. Dickey (2-6) and Texas' Matt Harrison (2-1) are scheduled to start Thursday's series finale.
