New York, NY (Best E Casino) - The New York Knicks acquired guard Taurean Green, forward Bobby Jones, and a second-round draft choice in 2010 from Denver on Monday, in exchange for forward Renaldo Balkman and cash considerations. Balkman averaged 3.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in 65 games for the Knicks last season. Originally a first-round selection by New York in the 2006 NBA Draft (20th overall), the South Carolina product has posted averages of 4.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in 133 career games, while seeing just over 15 minutes of playing time per contest. Jones recently completed just his second season after Minnesota selected him in the second round (37th overall) of the 2006 draft, but has already played with six different teams. He appeared in 44 games for Philadelphia in 2006-07, then averaged 3.8 points in just more than 11 minutes per game this past season while playing for Memphis, Houston, Miami, San Antonio and the Nuggets. Green, a rookie last season, averaged just more than four minutes in 17 contests, and notched 1.6 points per game with Portland and Denver. The Florida product was a second-round choice (52nd overall) by the Trail Blazers in the 2007 draft. The draft pick the Knicks acquired will be the more favorable selection between the Nuggets and Clippers, resulting from a previous trade.
