Pittsburgh, PA (Best E Casino) - The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled outfielder Steve Pearce from Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday prior to an evening matchup with the San Diego Padres. The Pirates traded outfielder Xavier Nady and pitcher Damaso Marte to the New York Yankees on Saturday, receiving four prospects in return. The 29-year-old Nady has a .330 batting average, with 13 home runs, 26 doubles and 57 runs batted in through 89 games this season. He was also in the midst of a 13-game hitting streak. Pearce will try to help fill the void left by Nady in right field. The 25-year-old spent a week with the Pirates in July going 1-for-3 as a pinch hitter while playing two innings in right field. In 93 games with Indianapolis he hit .258 with 11 home runs, 26 doubles and 54 RBI.
