Oakland, CA (Best E Casino) - Josh Hamilton, David Murphy and Chris Davis each recorded two-run home runs as the Texas Rangers exploded for eight runs in the ninth inning to run away with a 14-6 win over the Oakland Athletics.

Davis was 3-for-6, adding a double and three runs scored as each player in the Texas lineup recorded at least one of the team's 17 hits. Michael Young finished 3-for-5 with a double and a pair of RBI.

Vicente Padilla (12-5) got the win after allowing five runs on seven hits and four walks through six innings, fanning nine. He improved to 9-2 in 13 road starts this season for Texas, which had dropped two in a row coming into this three-game series.

Oakland starter Sean Gallagher gave up five runs -- just one earned -- on nine hits with five walks and five strikeouts in 5 1/3 frames. Jerry Blevins (0-1) took the loss as he was credited with a run on one hit in 1 1/3 innings of relief. Alan Embree and Andrew Brown were each saddled with four runs surrendered in the ninth inning.

Jack Hannahan and Brooks Conrad each had a pair of hits and RBI for the Athletics, who have fallen in eight of their last nine affairs.

Texas broke a 5-5 tie in the seventh as Davis got things started with a one- out double. After Blevins fanned Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Brad Ziegler was brought in to face Ian Kinsler, who singled to right to score Davis for the go-ahead run.

Davis jump-started an eight-run ninth with a one-out, two-run shot to right off Embree, his ninth homer of the year.

After a single and walk, Brown was called in from the bullpen and failed to record an out until the seventh batter he faced. Michael Young hit an RBI ground-rule double and Kinsler scored two batters later on a passed ball. Hank Blalock plated a pair of runners with a single to center after a Milton Bradley walk loaded the bases, and Marlon Byrd then doubled to right to score Bradley.

Murphy logged his third RBI of the game with a ground out to first to cap Texas' biggest inning of the season.

Conrad, who recorded his first career hit and RBI in the third inning, added another run-scoring single for Oakland in the bottom of the ninth.

After the Rangers squandered a bases-loaded chance in the top of the third, the clubs traded five-run innings.

With one out and the bases loaded, Oakland's Carlos Gonzalez looped an RBI base hit to left and Bobby Crosby worked a five-pitch walk two batters later to force in a run. Hannahan then lined a shot into the right-field gap for a two-run single and Conrad's RBI base hit made it 5-0 A's.

Ryan Sweeney appeared to extend the inning with a single to left, but Murphy came up throwing and threw out Hannahan at the plate.

Murphy came right back and sparked the Rangers' big inning with the bat. After Conrad's throwing error allowed Byrd to reach base, Murphy took a 1-0 fastball over the wall in center to make it a 5-2 game.

Following a single and walk, Kinsler bunted both runners into scoring position. Young flied out deep enough to right to knock in a run, and Hamilton took the first pitch he saw, a hanging breaking ball, and tied the game up with his 23rd home run of the season.

Game Notes

Though he allowed an inherited runner to score, Ziegler tied the record for most consecutive scoreless innings to start a major-league career. He tied George McQuillan's record of 25 frames set in 1907...The Rangers have won seven of ten matchups with the Athletics this season.
