Cowboys part ways with WR Glenn

Oxnard, CA (Best E Casino) - The Dallas Cowboys released veteran wide receiver Terry Glenn on Friday, one day after failing to report to Cowboys training camp amid an on-going dispute over the signing of an injury waiver.

The 34-year-old Glenn missed 15 games last season with a right knee injury that required two arthroscopic surgeries. The team was at odds over Glenn's refusal to sign an injury waiver that would diminish his salary to $500,000 from the $1.74 million he is due, should he re-injure the knee. Glenn apparently agreed to sign the waiver but the club decided to release him anyway.

Team owner Jerry Jones left open the possibility of a return for the aging receiver, telling the Cowboys website that the team might be interested in re- signing Glenn later in the preseason or closer to the start of the regular season. Jones cited the need to give younger receivers such as Patrick Crayton and Sam Hurd, among others, a chance to earn playing time.

The Cowboys signed the former Ohio State star to a five-year, $20 million contract in 2006 after Glenn was the Cowboys' top outside threat in 2005 and caught 62 passes for 1,136 yards and seven touchdowns.

In his career, Glenn has amassed 593 receptions for 8,823 yards and 44 touchdowns in 137 games with Dallas, Green Bay and New England.
