Houston, TX (Best E Casino) - The Houston Astros have acquired pitcher Randy Wolf from the San Diego Padres in exchange for pitcher Chad Reineke, the club announced on Tuesday. "Randy is an experienced starter and a great competitor," said Wade. "We tried to sign him as a free agent during the offseason, but the chance for him to pitch close to home prevailed. I've known Randy since the day he signed his first professional contract, and I can say without hesitation that he brings every quality that you'd want in a member of your team, both on and off the field." Wolf is 6-10 with a 4.74 earned run average in 21 starts for the Padres this season. The left-handed 10-year veteran owns an 84-76 record with a 4.30 ERA in 233 career games (229 starts) with the Phillies, Dodgers and Padres. The 31-year-old was a National League All-Star with the Phillies in 2003, when he posted a career-high 16 wins. However, Wolf has not reached double figures in wins since. Reineke, a 26-year-old righty, is 5-9 with a 4.41 ERA in 21 games (20 starts) at Triple-A Round Rock.
