Winnipeg, MB (Best E Casino) - Winnipeg Blue Bombers linebacker Barrin Simpson will require season-ending surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle, an MRI revealed Monday. The injury was sustained during the fourth quarter of Friday's 27-18 loss to the B.C. Lions when Simpson tackled Lions' receiver Clarence Coleman. Prior to the injury, the six-time CFL all-star had never missed a game in seven-plus seasons in the league. Rookie Joe Lobendahn is expected to start at linebacker for the Bombers, as Simpson will be placed on the nine-game injured list. In other Blue Bombers news, head coach Doug Berry announced that Ryan Dinwiddie will replace Kevin Glenn as the team's starting quarterback for the club's game against the Calgary Stampeders on Thursday.
