Colorado Springs, CO (Best E Casino) - USA Basketball announced on Saturday that Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love and Phoenix Suns center Robin Lopez have been named the two remaining members of its Men's Select Team, rounding out a roster of 12. The initial 10 players were announced on Wednesday with the promise of adding two of the more impressive players from the 2008 NBA Summer League, which concludes on Sunday. Love is averaging 20.7 points and 15.0 rebounds per game while Lopez posted averages of 16.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game thus far. The team was selected to help prepare the 2008 USA Senior National Team for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, slated to take place August 10-24. The rest of the team includes: Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City); LaMarcus Aldridge (Portland Trail Blazers); Jeff Green (Oklahoma City); Luther Head (Houston Rockets); Al Horford (Atlanta Hawks); Andre Iguodala (Philadelphia 76ers); Kevin Martin (Sacramento Kings); O.J. Mayo (Memphis Grizzlies); Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls) and Rodney Stuckey (Detroit Pistons). "We brought into the senior team's training camp last summer a select team of young NBA superstars and it proved to be valuable preparation for our Senior Team," said USA Basketball Men's Senior National Team managing Director Jerry Colangelo. "Again in 2008 the Select Team features some of the league's most promising young and upcoming players." Oklahoma City head coach P.J. Carlesimo will coach the Select Team, which will begin training July 20 in Las Vegas and is expected to train and scrimmage against the USA Senior National Team from July 21-24.
