Jacksonville, FL (Best E Casino) - Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jerry Porter underwent successful surgery on Thursday to repair a hamstring tendon that was not healing. Porter will be sidelined for six to eight weeks meaning he will miss training camp and the preseason, but the Jaguars expect their top offseason acquisition to be recovered in time for the season opener with Tennessee. The 30-year-old Porter signed a six-year contract with the Jags in February after finishing his eighth season with the Raiders in 2007. The former second-round pick from West Virginia had 44 catches for 705 yards and six touchdowns last season. Porter had 284 receptions for 3,939 yards and 30 touchdowns throughout his career with Oakland.
