Baltimore, MD (Best E Casino) - The Detroit Tigers activated outfielder Magglio Ordonez from the 15-day disabled list prior to Thursday's game with the Baltimore Orioles. Ordonez has been sidelined since right oblique spasms caused him to exit a June 28 game against the Colorado Rockies in the third inning. The outfielder appeared to pull up as he chased after Troy Tulowitzki's lead-off double, and went on the disabled list the next day with a strained right oblique. Before going on the DL, the reigning American League batting champ was hitting .307 with 12 homers and 50 RBI in 80 games this season. Ordonez appeared in a rehab assignment at Single-A West Michigan on Tuesday, collecting a single and a run scored. The Tigers made room for their cleanup hitter earlier in the week by optioning outfielder Clete Thomas to Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.
