Minneapolis, MN (Best E Casino) - The Minnesota Vikings declined to comment about allegations that they made inappropriate contact with Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre.

Vikings spokesman Bob Hagan issued a two-sentence statement on Thursday saying the Vikings "are not commenting on the issue. These types of matters are handled by the league."

On Wednesday, Fox Sports reported Green Bay filed tampering charges with the NFL against the Minnesota Vikings for alleged communication with the future Hall of Fame quarterback, even though Favre's still a member of the Packers. The network reported Favre had inappropriate dialogue with Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, a former assistant coach with the Packers and a close friend of Favre's.

If the Vikings are found guilty of tampering by the league, they could be fined or lose draft picks.

Fox reported the NFL is currently in the "information-gathering mode" about the allegations.

Also Wednesday, Favre's agent, Bus Cook, told ESPN that as of this point there were "no definite plans for reinstatement." Cook also told the cable network that Favre has made it pretty clear "he is not willing to come in as a backup" to Aaron Rodgers.

In a television interview on Monday, the 38-year-old Favre admitted he pulled the trigger on retirement too early and that he's ready to play in Green Bay this season, though his relationship with Packers management has become fractured.

Last season, Favre led the Packers to the NFC Championship game after throwing for 4,155 yards and 28 touchdowns and compiling a 95.7 passer rating. The three-time league MVP said he has not signed any official retirement papers, and he asked from his release from the Packers last week.
