Pittsburgh, PA (Best E Casino) - The Pittsburgh Steelers signed former Oregon quarterback Dennis Dixon to a three-year contract on Monday. Dixon, who was a fifth-round choice in the 2008 draft, was named the Pac-10 offensive player of the year -- guiding the Ducks to an 8-1 record and a BCS ranking as high as two -- before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He racked up 6,337 yards of total offense, completing 444-of-695 passes and threw for 38 touchdowns in his Oregon career. The fleet-footed signal caller also set a school record for career rushing yards with 1,208. The Steelers also signed sixth-round pick and safety Ryan Mundy to a three- year deal. Mundy was a West Virginia product who tied for the team lead with three interceptions in 2007.
