New York, NY (Best E Casino) - New York Mets third baseman David Wright will replace Cubs outfielder Alfonso Soriano on the National League roster in the All-Star Game next Tuesday at Yankee Stadium. Wright had recently finished second to Brewers outfielder Corey Hart in the voting for the National League's final roster spot. The 25-year-old has batted .288 this season, entering Friday's action, and leads the Mets with 17 homers and 70 runs batted in. This marks the third consecutive season Wright has been chosen to play in the Mid-Summer Classic, however, it is the first time he has been selected as a reserve. Soriano was selected to play in the All-Star Game for the seventh consecutive year despite breaking a bone in his left ring finger on June 11. The 2004 All- Star Game MVP was replaced in the starting lineup by Colorado's Matt Holliday, who received the highest number of votes on the player ballot, which selects the game's reserve players.
