Fayetteville, AR (Best E Casino) - Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones was arrested early Thursday morning in his former college town and charged with felony possession of cocaine.

Jones, 25, and two other men were arrested just before 1:00 a.m. on Thursday after police said they observed Jones cutting up cocaine with a credit card in a car.

According to the police report, officers approached a white Toyota 4Runner at 12:41 a.m. on Thursday and observed Jones chopping up white powder with a credit card. After ordering the men out of the car the officers found a bag containing six grams of white powder that tested positive as cocaine, a small plastic straw with suspected cocaine residue, a rolled up ten-dollar bill, and a glass jar with suspected marijuana residue, according to the report.

The former Arkansas Razorback quarterback was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, while Jared Hicks, 25, of Fayetteville and Benjamin Cook, 26, of Tulsa, were both charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

A first-round draft pick by the Jaguars in 2005, Jones has been a disappointment as a wide receiver in the NFL. The 6-foot-6, 238-pound wideout had 24 catches for 317 yards and four touchdowns last season, and has 101 catches for 1,392 yards and 13 scores in three seasons with Jacksonville.
