Oakland, CA (Best E Casino) - Seattle Mariners pitcher Miguel Batista left Wednesday's 6-4 win against the Oakland Athletics with a groin strain. Batista, who was already starting in place of an injured Erik Bedard, was forced from the mound after coming out to start the third inning. Ryan Rowland-Smith replaced the right-hander. Batista allowed a solo home run to Jack Cust through two innings of work, recording one strikeout and no walks. Batista missed time earlier this season with the same injury among other various ailments plaguing a disappointing season. He is 4-10 this season with a 6.22 earned run average in 22 games, including 15 starts.
