Arlington, VA (Best E Casino) - The Washington Capitals signed forward Brooks Laich to a three-year contract Wednesday, the terms of which remain undisclosed. Laich, 25, played in all 82 games for Washington last season, recording 21 goals and 16 assists. He was one of four Capitals not to miss a game last season. The 6-foot-2, 208-pound Wawota, Saskatchewan native was Ottawa's sixth-round choice (193rd overall) in the 2001 Entry Draft. He was acquired by Washington on February 18, 2004. Over four seasons in the NHL he has appeared in 233 games, one with Ottawa and the remainder with Washington, and has totaled 36 goals and 41 assists.
