Calgary, AB (Best E Casino) - The Calgary Flames re-signed four players on Friday, including centers Craig Conroy and Daymond Langkow. The club also inked forward Eric Nystrom and goaltender Curtis McElhinney to new deals.

Conroy, 36, played in 79 games last season for the Flames and tallied 12 goals and 22 assists. He is in his second stint with Calgary, after being traded from the Los Angeles Kings in the 2006-07 season, and was once the club's captain. In 846 career NHL games, Conroy has 165 goals and 312 assists.

Langkow, 31, has spent the past three seasons with Calgary and scored 88 goals and added 113 assists in 243 games. He was the fifth overall selection in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft by Tampa Bay, and has also played with Philadelphia and Phoenix.

"Conroy and Langkow are two of our top centermen who are strong role models for our team both on and off the ice," Flames general manager Darryl Sutter said. "Especially with more young wingers in our line-up next season, their experience and leadership will be important. We are happy to be able to make it work by fitting them into our salary structure."

Nystrom, 25, was the 10th overall pick in the 2002 draft, and posted three goals and seven assists in 44 games with Calgary this past season.

McElhinney, 25, was a sixth-round selection in the 2002 draft. He played in five games for Calgary last season, his first NHL game action.
