Park City, UT (Best E Casino) - Tiger Woods underwent successful surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on Tuesday.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Thomas D. Rosenberg and Dr. Vernon J. Cooley in Park City, Utah. These doctors performed arthroscopic surgery on the same knee in April.

"We were confident going in to this surgery and I am pleased with the results," Dr. Rosenberg said in a statement released by Woods' management group, IMG. "There were no surprises during the procedure, and as we have said, with the proper rehabilitation and training, it is highly unlikely that Mr. Woods will have any long-term effects as it relates to his career."

The surgery came eight days after Woods captured his third U.S. Open Championship. He needed 91 holes to defeat Rocco Mediate and announced shortly thereafter he would undergo surgery and miss the remainder of the year.

"It was important to me to have the surgery as soon as possible so that I could begin the rehabilitation process," Woods said in a statement. "I am very appreciative of Dr. Rosenberg and Dr. Cooley and his staff's guidance and look forward to working with them through the necessary rehabilitation and training. I look forward to working hard at my rehabilitation over the coming months and returning to the PGA Tour healthy next year."

Woods had surgery after finishing second at this year's Masters. No timetable is available for his return next year.

Woods will miss the season's final two major championships, the British Open and PGA Championship, and the Ryder Cup.
