Pittsburgh, PA (Best E Casino) - Lyle Overbay had the go-ahead two-run double in a four-run sixth inning, as the Toronto Blue Jays snapped a seven-game losing streak and gave Cito Gaston his first win in his second stint as the team's manager with an 8-5 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates in the finale of a three-game series at PNC Park.

Dustin McGowan (6-5) allowed four runs -- three earned -- on nine hits and a walk while striking out two for the victory. B.J. Ryan pitched a perfect ninth to notch his 15th save.

Alex Rios was 2-for-4 with a double while Scott Rolen and Adam Lind both homered for the Blue Jays, who had lost their first two games after Gaston took over for the fired John Gibbons on Friday.

"It's kind of a good thing about it (the offense) we're coming out of it it looks like. We got a couple of times when we burned them with the bases loaded," Overbay said. "We got a couple of sacrifice flies and we got a couple of quality at bats coming back."

Ian Snell lasted just four innings for Pittsburgh, giving up four runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out two in a no decision. T.J. Beam (0-1), who was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis before the game, took the loss after allowing one run on two walks in 1 1/3 innings.

"It's not the toughest stretch of my career, and it's not going to be the last. Everybody has it,everybody goes through it. There's probably about 100 pitchers that's not doing well, that everybody expected to do well in the major leagues," Snell said. "You're going to have bad years before you have great ones -- I'm now having a bad one. Big deal everyone goes though it."

Jack Wilson was 2-for-5 with a run scored and Jose Bautista drove in two runs for the Pirates, who have lost four of their last six games.

The Blue Jays broke the game open in the sixth with a two-out rally, snapping a 4-4 tie. Marco Scutaro led off with a walk against Beam and moved to second on a Joe Inglett sacrifice. Rios followed with a single off Franquelis Osoria and, after Vernon Wells grounded out, Overbay doubled to score both runners. Rolen followed with his fourth homer to give the visitors an 8-4 lead.

Raul Chavez scored on Luis Rivas' groundout in the home sixth to bring Pittsburgh within three. Chavez reached base on a Scutaro throwing error, moved to second on Chris Gomez's single and advanced to third on a wild pitch before scoring.

Scott Downs retired all six Pittsburgh batters he faced in the seventh and eighth innings before Ryan closed it out in the ninth.

Toronto scored twice in the first to take an early lead. Scutaro drew a lead- off walk and moved to second on Inglett's bunt single. Rios followed with a double to score Scutaro and Wells added a sacrifice fly to plate Inglett. Rios was picked off by catcher Chavez and Overbay grounded out to end the inning.

Jason Bay's RBI groundout cut the lead in half in the bottom of the inning. Wilson, who reached on a one-out single, scored on the play.

Lind led off the fourth for Toronto with his first home run this season to make it 3-1. Scutaro and Inglett hit back-to-back one-out singles and Rios walked to load the bases for Wells, who added another sacrifice fly to score Scutaro.

Pittsburgh's three-run fourth erased the deficit. Bay, Adam LaRoche, Jason Michaels, Bautista and Chavez all singled to open the inning. Bay and LaRoche came home on Bautista's single and Michaels scored on Chavez's base hit. McGowan, though, retired the next three batters to keep it tied.

The Pirates placed pitcher Phil Dumatrait on the 15-day disabled list with left rotator cuff tendinitis and promoted Beam from the minors to fill the roster spot...This was Toronto's first-ever series in Pittsburgh...Toronto is 4-6 in interleague play...Pittsburgh has lost six of its last nine...Wilson has played 1,001 career games.
