(Best E Casino) - The Cleveland Indians will try to get back on the winning track tonight, when they resume a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.

The Indians entered this series having won five of seven games, then suffered a 10-2 pounding on Tuesday in the opener of the set. Paul Byrd started for the Tribe and went just four-plus innings, allowing five runs on nine hits while striking out four. Jhonny Peralta was 3-for-4 with a triple for the Indians.

Cleveland started its six-game swing on the wrong foot and fell to 13-20 away from Progressive Field this season. It will also visit the LA Angels of Anaheim on the current trek.

Aaron Laffey has been pitching well lately and will lead the Indians tonight against the Rockies. Laffey is 4-1 over his last five decisions and topped Minnesota in his previous outing on June 12 in a 12-2 victory.

Laffey held the Twins to a run and five hits through six innings, improving to 4-3 with a 2.83 ERA in nine starts this season.

The young lefty has never faced the Rockies in his career.

Colorado has won three of its last four games and is 1-1 on a seven-game homestand. Greg Reynolds pitched six strong innings and gave up just one run on five hits to register the win. Willy Taveras went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI and runs scored, while Brad Hawpe and Jeff Baker each hit two-run homers for the Rockies, who have won nine of their last 13 games.

The Rockies will also host the New York Mets at Coors Field, where they are 17-17 this season. They will send struggling pitcher Jeff Francis to the mound on Wednesday night, and he is just 2-6 with a 5.49 earned run average in 14 starts this season.

He last toed the rubber during a 5-4 loss on June 13 at the Chicago White Sox, allowing four runs and four hits in six innings for the no-decision.

The left-handed Francis, who is 1-4 in seven home starts this season, lost at Cleveland on June 14 at then-named Jacobs Field. He was reached for seven runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 frames of an 11-2 loss.

Colorado is 5-2 versus the American League this season, while the Indians have won just two of seven games against the Senior Circuit. Cleveland is 104-96 all-time in interleague play, compared to the Rockies' 81-89 mark.

Cleveland is 7-6 all-time against Colorado.
