Bronx, NY (Best E Casino) - The New York Yankees placed ace Chien-Ming Wang on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday, a day after the club announced he would miss a minimum of six weeks after with a Lisfranc injury to his right foot. Wang will wear a protective boot on his foot during recovery of the injury, which he sustained in Sunday's 13-0 victory over the Houston Astros while running the bases. To take Wang's roster spot, the Yankees recalled pitcher Billy Traber from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Traber has made 11 appearances at the big league level this season, allowing four runs in eight innings of work. Wang left Sunday's game against the Astros in the sixth inning. With the bases loaded, Wang was on second as Derek Jeter hit a two-run single to right field. The Taiwanese star rounded third, clearly limping as he ran home. Doubled over in pain, Wang had to be helped off the field after scoring. Yankees team physician, Dr. Stuart Hershon, and Dr. Justin Greisberg, a foot and ankle specialist, both examined Wang at New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia Medical Center. Images revealed a a mid-foot sprain of the Lisfranc ligament of the right foot and a partial tear of the peroneal longus tendon of the right foot. Wang gave up six hits through five shutout innings in Sunday's game. He is 8-2 with a 4.07 earned run average in 15 starts this season. Since arriving in the big leagues during the 2005 season, Wang is a gaudy 54-20 with a 3.79 ERA and won 19 games in both 2006 and 2007.
