Hempstead, NY (Best E Casino) - New York Jets owner Woody Johnson announced on Tuesday that president Jay Cross will step down from his position at the end of June to become president of Related Hudson Yards in Manhattan. Johnson also announced Matt Higgins, Thad Sheely and Mike Tennenbaum as executive vice presidents. Cross was the driving force behind the Jets' new training facilities in Florham Park, NJ and their $1.3 billion, 82,500-seat stadium in the Meadowlands -- still shared with the Giants -- set to open for the 2010 campaign. "I'm so very proud of what we have accomplished here at the Jets since Woody took over in 2000," Cross said. "I'm confident this organization is well positioned to make the exciting transition to Florham Park and the New Meadowlands Stadium." Cross came to the Jets in 2000 after a similar stay with the NBA's Miami Heat, where he facilitated the Heat's move to American Airlines Arena. His new position will have him "running a major real estate project in the heart of a great city." Higgins, in his fifth season with the Jets, will oversee all elements of business operations, while Sheely will primarily deal with the team's finances in his eighth season with the club. Tennenbaum, a 12-year veteran of the organization, was named general manager in 2006 and will continue to manage all football operations.
