Flushing, NY (Best E Casino) - The Texas Rangers recalled pitcher Kason Gabbard from Triple-A Oklahoma on Sunday in time to start the second half of the team's twinbill against the New York Mets. Gabbard (1-3) allowed four runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings and took the loss in the Rangers' 4-2 defeat. The teams split the doubleheader. The 26-year-old Gabbard made nine starts with the Rangers previously this season until being optioned to Oklahoma on May 30. He made two starts in the minors, going 0-1 with a 4.97 ERA. To make room on the 25-man roster for Gabbard, the club designated right- handed pitcher Robinson Tejeda for assignment. Tejeda had a 9.00 ERA in four relief appearances for Texas this year.
