(Best E Casino) - Now back at .500 for the season, the Baltimore Orioles try to move out of last place in the American League East as they challenge the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second game of a three-game interleague set at Camden Yards.

Melvin Mora finished 3-for-4 with a double and run batted in, as the Orioles rallied to register a 9-6 victory in the series opener last night.

Brian Roberts went 2-for-4 with a double and RBI, Kevin Millar worked three bases-on-balls and hit a two-RBI single, while Luke Scott homered, as seven of the Orioles' nine starters had at least one hit in the victory.

Baltimore starter Brian Burres evened his record at 5-5 on the season, even as he allowed six runs on eight hits and three walks, while striking out four over the course of six innings. George Sherrill worked a perfect ninth to record his 22nd save of the campaign.

Jason Michaels had a pair of hits for the Pirates, including a home run, as he knocked in three in a losing cause. Jack Wilson also plated two with a couple of hits in the setback. Starter Phil Dumatrait gave up five runs on five hits and five walks in, of course, five innings of work, but it was Franquelis Osoria who was charged with the loss. Osoria completed just 2/3 innings, permitting two runs on three hits and a walk.

With the loss Pittsburgh had a brief two-game win streak halted and is now 10 games out of first in the NL Central.

Getting his first-ever look at Baltimore tonight will be left-hander Zach Duke. The Pirate hurler, now in his fourth major league season, picked up his second win in as many starts when he limited Arizona to just two runs on Monday. Duke allowed five hits and fanned five over six innings of work at home in the 5-3 victory.

As for the Orioles, they're giving the ball to Radhames Liz once again, hopeful that the recent call-up can provide Baltimore with an opportunity to land in the win column.

After winning his first outing of the season against Minnesota back on June 3, the right-hander took the hill a couple days before his 25th birthday on Sunday versus Toronto, but failed to factor into the decision. In that meeting last weekend Liz was touched for two runs on four hits and three walks, as he fanned three over the course of five innings in what became a 5-4 road loss.

Like Duke, this is the first-ever appearance for Liz against the Pirates in his career.

In his last six games Ryan Doumit has been almost unstoppable for the Pirates at the plate, posting 10 hits in 22 at-bats, including four home runs. Doumit has knocked in seven and scored six times himself. Both Jason Bay and Nate McLouth are hitting only .231 over the last week, yet have combined to score nine times and knock in nine runs.

As the one legitimate possibility for the All-Star Game this season, Roberts has picked up the pace over the last week for the O's with his team-best nine hits, including four doubles, leading to four RBI and five runs scored. Aubrey Huff and Jay Payton both have eight hits and four runs scored in the last week as well for a team hitting .294 the last six games.

Pittsburgh, which continues to struggle against the American League with the worst record in interleague play at 57-95, managed to take two of three from the O's at PNC Park in 2005. For their efforts, the Orioles are just 82-115 since the start of interleague play.
