Los Angeles, CA (Best E Casino) - The
Los Angeles Lakers are well on their way to tying the NBA Finals, while keeping their impressive home winning streak alive.
Lamar Odom sank all seven of his shots from the field, on the way to 15 points, and the Lakers are on top of Boston, 58-40, at the half of Game 4.
Not only are the Lakers blowing out the Celtics, but they're doing it despite a poor first half from reigning MVP Kobe Bryant. He has just three points on 0-of-4 shooting and also picked up his third foul in the final minute of the half.
Pau Gasol has 10 points for Los Angeles.
The Lakers posted an 87-81 victory in Game 3 on Tuesday night at the Staples Center after dropping the first two games in Boston. Los Angeles is 9-0 at home in the playoffs and has won 15 straight at the Staples Center dating back to the regular season. With another win Thursday, the Lakers will tie the NBA playoff record for most consecutive home victories in a single postseason, a mark held by six teams.
Boston point guard Rajon Rondo, who left Game 3 with a bone bruise on his left ankle, started Thursday and has three points at the half. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce each have six points and Ray Allen has nine, one less than James Posey, who is Boston's leading scorer.
Boston, which is 2-8 on the road in this year's playoffs, had four assists to eight turnovers in the first two quarters.
Odom scored 13 on 6-of-6 shooting in the first quarter, as the Lakers surged to a 35-14 lead. The 21-point difference was the largest after an opening quarter in an NBA Finals contest. Odom's 20-foot jumper capped a 15-1 run for a 26-7 margin.
While the Lakers hit 11-of-17 shots in the first, the Celtics continued to struggle on the road and finished 6-of-22 from the field in the period.
Sasha Vujacic's three-pointer moved the lead to 45-21 nearly halfway through the second, but the Celtics rallied for the next 12, culminated by a Pierce jumper.
However, Derek Fisher countered with a three-ball and eventually the Lakers moved ahead by 18 on Jordan Farmar's running three-pointer at the halftime buzzer.
