d MIAMI (AP) -Hanley Ramirez led off the game with one of Florida's three home runs off Philadelphia starter Brett Myers, and the Marlins went on to beat the NL East-leading Phillies 5-4 on Tuesday night.

Jorge Cantu hit a two-run homer in the first and Mike Jacobs added a two-run shot in the fifth for the Marlins, who closed within three games of the Phillies' lead atop the division and handed Philadelphia just its fifth loss in 20 games.

Ricky Nolasco (6-4) allowed three runs - all unearned - in six innings for Florida, and Kevin Gregg got the final four outs for his 12th save in 15 chances.

Jimmy Rollins and Pat Burrell homered for Philadelphia, which was bidding for its first five-game lead in the standings since June 6, 2001.Cardinals 7, Reds 2

CINCINNATI (AP) - Ryan Ludwick homered and drove in four runs to lead the Cardinals over the Reds.

Albert Pujols and Rick Ankiel gave the Cardinals their first set of back-to-back home runs this season before Pujols was helped off the field in the top of the seventh inning with a strained left calf he suffered while running out a ground ball.

Pujols will be reevaluated on Wednesday.

Ludwick also doubled twice and singled in support of rookie right-hander Mitchell Boggs (1-0), who made his first major league start and second appearance.

Reds right fielder Ken Griffey Jr. went 0-for-3 with a walk in his first home game since hitting his 600th career home run Monday in Florida.

Homer Bailey (0-2) gave up five runs and eight hits.Nationals 7, Pirates 6

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Ronnie Belliard hit two homers and Lasting Milledge's two-run shot with two outs in the ninth lifted the Nationals to a wild win over the Pirates.

Belliard added an RBI single during his first game back from the disabled list and Dimitri Young and Jesus Flores also homered for the Nationals, who had lost four in a row and eight of nine.

Pittsburgh's Matt Capps (0-1) had been 15-for-15 in save opportunities and appeared headed to his third save in as many days when he got two quick outs to open the ninth. But on successive pitches Elijah Dukes doubled to right and Milledge homered to left.

Joel Hanrahan (2-2) got the final two outs of the eighth for the win, and Jon Rauch pitched a perfect ninth for his 13th save.

Ryan Doumit went 4-for-4 with two home runs, three runs and three RBIs for the Pirates.Astros 6, Brewers 1

HOUSTON (AP) - Lance Berkman homered and hit a three-run triple, and Roy Oswalt pitched seven solid innings for his first win in almost a month to lead the Astros over the Brewers.

Berkman's 19th homer of the season off Seth McClung (3-3) landed in the left-field Crawford Boxes and scored Miguel Tejada to give Houston a 2-0 lead in the first. Berkman is second in the majors in home runs behind Philadelphia's Chase Utley and is the leader in runs scored (61) and extra base hits (45).

Berkman, who also had a single, is hitting .379.

Oswalt (5-6) broke a three game losing streak with his first win since May 12. He allowed five hits and one run with a season-high 10 strikeouts.Cubs 10, Braves 5

CHICAGO (AP) -Ted Lilly settled down after a shaky start to get his first win in three weeks and Derrek Lee and Geovany Soto homered as the Cubs continued their dominant play at Wrigley Field, beating the Braves.

Braves' starter Tom Glavine, who got his 300th win last Aug. 5 at Wrigley while pitching for the Mets, had to leave after three innings with a left elbow strain.

Greg Norton's three-run homer in the first off Lilly gave Glavine an early cushion but with his control off and his elbow apparently hurting, he let it slip away.

The NL Central-leading Cubs rallied and are now 27-8 in their home ballpark this season. Lee had a solo shot in the third to tie the game and Soto a three-run drive in the eighth to put it away.

Glavine (2-3) gave up four runs, six hits and four walks while throwing 72 pitches in his second shortest outing of the season.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
